Connection
So much of our lives are spent doing. We rush here and there. Spending most of our time in our minds going over our to do lists, rehashing old conversations, or rehearsing conversations that haven’t yet happened. We are so busy we miss out on opportunities to connect with other people. We fail to notice others or noticing them enough to know they are between you and your mission. On this Magic Monday, take some time to slow down and connect with someone. This can be a loved one or even a stranger. When the opportunity presents itself, and it will if you are looking for it, just engage in the moment with the other person. Really listen to what s/he has to say. Even if s/he is talking about something that you disagree with, listen to their perspective. Make a conscious effort to really be present. If you feel like you don’t have enough time for that, try being present with a clerk at a store or restaurant. Ask them how their day is going and really listen to the answer. We all like to be treated like we are valuable. Notice how they respond to your kindness and attention. Connecting with others helps us remember how valuable we all are.
