Life can be challenging, amazing and everything in between. We are molded by the various experiences and environments throughout our life. Many times, these formative events can influence us in a variety of ways depending upon how we interpret and reinterpret them. Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard stated that life can only be understood backwards but it must be lived forward. Sometimes we need another perspective to offer new interpretations and skills to navigate life. Sometimes we need someone to support us when life seems more than we can manage.
Through out nature there are many examples of transformation and growth; caterpillar into a butterfly, lobsters and crabs growing a new shell. The new butterfly, previously only knowing life on the ground, now must adjust to a new identity as a flying insect. The crabs and lobsters, after molting, are vulnerable to predators until their shell hardens. Humans have their own version of these transformations like transitioning to school, graduating school, getting married, getting divorced, losing a job, having a child, and so on.
Sometimes there is no specific event that has happened, yet we find ourselves feeling not ourselves. We need to make a change but are unsure of what to change or even how to go about making that change.
Navigating these life changes takes courage and support. That support can come in the form of family, friends, and mentors. Sometimes we need another perspective who can provide insight into our lives based on their years of training and practice helping others just like yourself.
If you find yourself needing another perspective, reach out. I am here to support you throughout your transformations.
